CDL Green Gallery
Rotating exhibitions covering flora, fauna, sustainability, and cultural heritage in an award-winning eco-designed space.

About the Gallery
The CDL Green Gallery brings fresh perspectives to the Gardens' storytelling through rotating exhibitions. This eco-friendly 3,380 sq ft space, beautifully sited on Holttum Lawn, was developed and donated by CDL in 2013 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary.
Conceptualised as an extension of the Heritage Museum, the gallery showcases diverse exhibitions covering flora, fauna, sustainability, climate change, cultural and natural heritage through art, and community stories. Exhibitions change every six to nine months, ensuring there is always something new to discover. From conservation breakthroughs to cultural celebrations, each exhibition adds another layer to the Gardens' rich narrative.
This dynamic space continues the tradition of sharing knowledge and wonder, where contemporary exhibitions complement the timeless stories housed in nearby Holttum Hall.

About the building
Designed to be sustainable from the ground up, the CDL Green Gallery pioneered eco-innovation in Singapore with two groundbreaking features: Hempcrete, a bio-composite material used for the first time locally, and a pre-fabricated modular system that reduced on-site construction to under 24 hours.
The building showcases sustainability through thoughtful design elements that work in harmony with the Gardens' natural environment. Green walls on the east and west facades feature fauna-attracting plant species that enrich biodiversity, while rooftop solar panels harvest clean energy. The green roof, planted with drought-resistant species, helps combat the Urban Heat Island effect around the building.
Inside, energy-efficient LED lighting and air-conditioning systems complete the sustainable story, creating an exhibition space that embodies the environmental values it often displays.
